Tunes in the park

Tunes in the Park is a free outdoor concert series held every summer in the amphitheater in Greer City Park. After a hiatus in 2020, Tunes in the Park is back on the 3rd Saturday of each month this summer. Admission is free, but you'll want to bring your own camping chairs or a picnic blanket. A few fantastic food, beverage, and dessert vendors will be on site, so come hungry and enjoy some great live music. Outside food/beverages are prohibited. Social distancing and masks or face coverings are recommended.

GREER IDOL & GREER IDOL JR aUDITIONS

uditions for Greer Idol and Greer Idol Jr will be held on Saturday, May 22, at this year's first Tunes in the Park! Greer Idol Jr auditions will be held first, at 6:30 PM. Greer Idol auditions will be held during intermission at 8:15 PM. Each auditionee will sing two 30-second selections (a capella) of songs of contrasting styles. Auditionees MUST pre-register to receive an audition slot. To register, send in this audition form to artscouncil@cityofgreer.org by 5 PM on Thursday, May 20.

Contestants for Greer Idol must be at least 16 years old by January 1, 2021. Greer Idol Jr. contestants must be at least 8 (but younger than 16) on January 1, 2021.

What is greer idol?

Greer Idol, established in 2007, is a singing competition open to vocalists in Upstate South Carolina. Contestants perform throughout the summer during Tunes in the Park in Greer City Park and judges score them on Vocal Skills, Audience Appeal, and Stage Presence. Audience members can cast votes for their favorite performers, and votes are combined with the judges scores to declare an overall winner at the end of the competition. Cash prizes are awarded to 1st Place and Runner Up.
