OPEN STUDIOS
Open Studios are only open to students currently enrolled in any adult clay class. The instructor will supervisor the classroom, but not provide instruction during this time. The fee is $10.

General Pricing:

Price for a 3 hour Class, 5 Week Session:
  • City of Greer Resident Price: $110
  • Non-Resident Price: $125
  • This price is paid directly to the Instructor of your class. Fees should be paid ahead of time to reserve your spot.
Materials Fees:
  • $10 per person to cover glazes, etc. 
  • Each 25lb. bag of clay costs $30, payed to the City of Greer. Only clay purchased through the City may be fired in the City's kilns.
  • The studio provides use of its glazes to students at no cost. Outside glazes may only be used at your teacher's discretion. 
  • There is no firing fee for work made during classes.​

*Zy's kids class  has a different pricing due to the different class length:

Meet the Instructors

ShAy Black
ShAy is a professional working artist and specializes in acrylic painting, but she is also an accomplished ceramicist.
Sam McElveen
Sam has a BA and an M. Ed in Art Education and spent seven years teaching art in schools. Currently, she enjoys working with her friends at Donovan Pottery, Flying Fox, and her cat, Charlie, in her own home studio.
Pippi ​Guilfoyle
Pippi is primarily a functional potter with 35 years of practice, creating predominately thrown and altered porcelain pieces.​
Kristina Peay
Kristina is a recent graduate of Lander University and she holds a BFA in 3D Visual Arts and a minor in Art History.​
​Kristina also hosts Open Studios while Sam is away.
Zy Sawyer
Zy is a recent graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University, and now resides in Greer with her two pet rats, Splinter & Shredder.
