About the Event

The City of Greer 2018 Greer Goes Global Juried Arts Exhibition is a regional art exhibition presented by the City of Greer, the Greer Cultural Arts Council, and Partnership for Tomorrow. Open to artists living within a 100-mile radius of Greer, SC, this juried exhibition seeks to recognize the outstanding quality and diversity of work being generated by artists of the Upstate region of South Carolina. All entries should be inspired by or reflect one of the two the themes.

About the Jurors

The Jury Committee consists of Greer Business Leaders and Artists. The panel will vote individually and the winner will be chosen based on combined scores.

All entries will be on display on the second floor of Greer City Hall until March 25, 2018. Art work which places will continue to hang in the Wall Gallery at Greer City Hall until April 23.

Your workshop includes one patch, a backstage tour including front and back of the House and On Stage terminology, practice acting time and admission to the show.

Backstage tours are at 12:30pm and will last approximately 30 minutes. The show begins at 2:00pm.

One leader admitted free with 10 scouts. The cost is $12.50 per scout.

These prices are not available online and can only be purchased with this form.

See the Show: If your group has already done the backstage tour and just wants to come see the show, we can offer you 2 free tickets for every 10 tickets purchased. See rates listed below.

Supper and a Show: Enjoy pizza before the show for an additional $3.00 per person. Price includes: Two slices of pepperoni or cheese pizza, drink, plates, napkins, and cups.

Foothills Philharmonic continues its 17th concert season on Saturday, February 10 with our annual chamber concert. In this first concert of the new year, Foothills Philharmonic's various chamber groups will present famous chamber works by various composers.

Dean Campbell, the Squire of the Dark Corner, will present

“Twice-told Tales & Twice-sung Ballads of the Dark Corner”

Since 2010 Campbell has been a contributor to the Tryon Daily Bulletin, producing columns that retell the tales of the Dark Corner, its mysteries and moonshine. He has also collected many old ballads of the region. His first book, published in 2013, included a CD with the ballads. Recently he completed a second volume. In his museum program he will tell tales and sing ballads from his book. Books will be available for purchase and a book signing will follow.

The Legendary James Brothers will present

a program of music and storytelling

Marshall and Leon James of Lyman began singing with their father and have performed for 73 years with no instruments, just their magnificent voices. The brothers won a 2015 Jean Haney Harris Heritage Award, presented by the S. C. General Assembly, that recognizes performers and advocates of traditional arts in the state.

Their program, which consists of gospel music and black history stories, is free and appropriate for all ages.

The museum is open Wed., Fri., and Sat. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and can be contacted at 864-877- 3377.
