What's New at the GCAC
GCT presents Hairspray
HAIRSPRAY delighted audiences by sweeping them away to 1960's Baltimore, where the 50's are out -- and change is in the air! Loveable plus-size heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show." Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair?

GREER CITY HALL
The Greer Cultural Arts Council (GCAC) mission is to serve the Greater Greer community by providing affordable cultural arts opportunities. GCAC is an all volunteer organization that through art, music, dance and drama has enriched the lives of citizen's of Greer and the surrounding communities since 1997. Throughout the years, GCAC has supported and funded the Greer Children's Theatre, Camp Ark and Applause for Greer's youth. We have been instrumental in the success of Greer Idol, Tunes on Trade, and Freedom Blast which brings thousands to the downtown area each summer. Our sponsorship and funding has brought cultural evenings of poetry, comedy and the Foothills Philharmonic to Greer.
The City of Greer has recently given GCAC a new home at the McKown center located at Greer City Park. We are truly grateful for this beautiful new space because it will allow GCAC to expand the cultural events we can provide to Greer and the surrounding communities. We are excited about being able to offer "Black Box" and dinner theatre; as well as art, music and dance programs/events all in one beautiful location in the heart of downtown Greer.
GCAC will be hosting our First Annual Dinner, Dance & Auction on February 11, 2012
